Immediate restoration of the Saracenicus.
The incredible event of the granting of a building permit for the construction of a 5* hotel in Sarakiniko, North Milos, has shocked public opinion and highlighted a number of serious problems in the whole institutionalized process of building permits. Most importantly, it revealed a major gap in the protection of parts of the country with a landscape of particular beauty, which is thus left to the discretion of each investor.

In order to prevent the total alteration of the Sarakiniko landscape, we ask the Ministry of Environment and Energy:
- To revoke the building permit for this building and those others being promoted in the area, after all work has ceased permanently.
- Promote immediately the designation of the area as protected (i.e. of special natural beauty) and undeveloped due to its geological formations and unique landscape.
- To publish the geological study of the Spatial Settlement Plan of the Open City, which was being promoted by the Municipality, in order to make known its proposals for the area of the geological formations of North Milos.
- A study should be commissioned immediately, under the responsibility of the Ministry of the Environment, on the restoration of the landscape from the construction of the hotel and any other works in the area, and the restoration of the damaged landscape should proceed as quickly as possible.
