FANTASTIC NEWS!
The demolition permits for the historic building complex at Myrsinis 4–6 have been officially revoked!
The ELLINIKI ETAIREIA Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET) played a key role in this outcome, responding to the request of local organizations in Kifisia and joining them in legal action to preserve these important heritage buildings.
These structures had a significant influence on the architectural development of Kifisia, helping shape a distinct local architectural character during the 1920s — a style that continued to prevail in the following decades.
The complex includes a main residential building (mansion) dating to the early 1920s and a gardener’s house, a representative example of an auxiliary building constructed between 1929 and 1935.
It is important to note that the buildings are located in the heart of the Traditional Section of Kifisia, an area with a very high density of listed (protected) buildings.
We warmly thank Ioulia Malamitsi, a valued member of ELLET, for her crucial contribution to this effort.
We celebrate this wonderful victory together with the people of Kifisia!
