Local Committees

ELLINIKI ETAIRIA – Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage, a prime example of Civil Society, has had for many years valuable cooperation with Local Committees representing Civil Society all over Greece.

At ELLET we believe that the participation and action of citizens in tackling environmental and cultural problems is the key to the success of any endeavor. Awareness, mobilization and participation in dealing with problems, responsibility for what happens in our cities, example for other fellow citizens and for future generations, is a basic condition for changing the mentality that wants us to be interested only in our home and not our neighborhood.

The Local Committees of ELLET point out the problems, propose solutions, mobilize the community. And where they need help, ELLET is present to offer it, in terms of specialized knowledge and studies, financing of programmes and activities, or new ideas and solutions.
